GRADE LEVEL SOCIALS
What are they? Parent socials have been a tradition at Carderock for many years and provide an excellent opportunity to meet fellow parents in a relaxed and fun setting. Grade level socials can be hosted indoors and/or outdoors. In addition, parents are welcome to plan ANY style event they are comfortable hosting - it could still be a parent-only event or a family event. Ideas include an adults-only cocktail party, a family potluck picnic in the park, ice cream truck and outdoor play date, etc.
When are they? Socials normally take place in October or November. Dates will be chosen by the hosts and their helpers. We will be sure that socials do not conflict with each other.
How can I help? In order to enjoy these outdoor socials we need volunteers to host EACH GRADE, and helpers to assist the hosts with invitations, planning, RSVPs, etc. Anyone interested in volunteering to host or help, or for more information, please contact Anna Ansaldo (Abw266@gmail.com)

ROOM PARENTS
One of the most rewarding and impactful ways you can help make this an awesome school year for our Cubs is by signing up to be a Room Parent.
Responsibilities include: (1) organizing, along with other room parents and teachers, the Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and End-of-the-School Year parties; and (2) coordinating with the teacher their classroom supply wishlists and any additional help that might be needed for the classroom.
This is a commitment that requires <15 hrs per school year per room parent, and each classroom typically has three room parents. This volunteer position offers dads and moms the opportunity to create wonderful lifelong memories by connecting with their children and their friends. Please reach out to our Room Parent Coordinator to sign up or to learn more.
CLASSROOM
Our teachers work with our Room Parents to set up classroom volunteer opportunities. Contact your Room Parents for details
