The Carderock Arts

General Information
The The Carderock Arts is a literary publication that solely features the work of Carderock students. Two issues are published per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. All students receive one copy of each issue. This publication is made possible through the financial support of our parent community via the PTA.

Submission Requirements

  • All handwritten work must be neat and clear (no smudges, eraser markings, etc.).
  • All crossword puzzles, word searches, word scrambles, riddles, mazes, and other items with answers must be turned in with an answer key.
  • All submissions should be on unlined paper, no larger than a standard 8.5” x 11” page (however, this does not indicate final size in the publication as pieces may be sized based on overall design and available space.)
  • All submissions must have the student’s first and last name and grade (work submitted without a student's full name is difficult to identify and will likely not be considered).
*Please note The Carderock Arts does not return submitted work, so if you wish to keep a personal copy, make a copy before submitting it.

Multiple submissions welcomed! All work will be reviewed and considered. Issue size, quality of work, and adherence to the above requirements will determine the submissions accepted per each issue. However, note that the Chronicle makes every effort to publish the work of as many students who submit as possible. This may mean only one work of many or only a portion of a work--the goal being for the majority of students who submit to have the opportunity to see their name and at least some of their work in print.
